We chose the venue deliberately. The Social Teahouse is a social enterprise built on a simple idea β€” "We don't hire people to make tea. We make tea to hire people." It's a first workplace for young people who grew up in state care, and especially young women, helping them build skills, confidence and independence through employment and mentorship.

That mission sits close to our own β€” so any funds remaining from this dinner will be donated to The Social Teahouse to support their work.
